We support aquatic, environmental, and wildlife research that deepens our understanding of the watershed’s interconnected ecosystems. This isn’t data for data’s sake—we share our findings openly with conservation groups, government agencies, and you, the public, so everyone can make informed decisions about our shared environment.

Research & Restoration SLSS initiates aquatic, environmental, and wildlife research projects to deepen understanding of ecosystems affecting the Slocan Lake Watershed. We share our scientific findings with conservation groups, government agencies, and the public, using this knowledge to guide restoration projects that rehabilitate damaged watershed areas.

Education & Advocacy Our educational programs offer hands-on learning and field trips that promote conservation and stewardship. Through our advocacy work, we provide input on proposed development activities within the watershed and collaborate with local, regional, and provincial governments to foster collective responsibility for the watershed’s health and future.

This documentary, produced and funded by Slocan Integral Forest Coop (SIFCo), is the first in a series celebrating the incredible conservation work happening right here in the West Kootenay
